Converting Regular Recipes to Crockpot Recipes

This is for all you slow-cooker virgins out there.
When I was a newlywed, I received a crockpot as a wedding gift.  I had no idea what to cook in it and finding a recipe isn't as easy as it is today.  I eventually found a few recipes, but I wish I'd had this information before I purchased two slow-cooker cookbooks.  A few years ago, I received a handout at church from a lady who was a fabulous and experienced cook. I found the following information very helpful and thought others might appreciate it as well.  I take no credit for this, I'm just passing along info.

Cilantro Lime-Vinaigrette

Cilantro-Lime Vinaigrette
Recipe by Our Best Bites

Our Best Bites is one of my favorite food blogs to follow.  They have amazing taste and their tutorials are so easy to follow.  The other day, Kate at Our Best Bites posted this amazing tutorial for Cilantro-Lime Vinaigrette & grilled fish tacos.  I made this for dinner last night and I thought it was amazing (as well as our dinner guest), but hubs is still a die-hard regular taco guy.  For lunch today, I was in the mood for some more of that yummy vinaigrette. The fish was all but eaten so I scoured the fridge until I found some leftover grilled pork from my Mother's day dinner.  I'm just going to go ahead and say itthis will taste amazing with any type of meat!  Just try it and you'll see!

Chicken Noodle Soup, Mmm, Mmm Good!

It's a sad fact that I had never tasted homemade chicken noodle soup until I made it myself in the first year I was married.  With a poor married student budget, I searched through my small library of cookbooks to find a recipe that I had  (a) all the ingredients for and (b) wouldn't take very long to cook.   I found the recipe I needed in the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book, 11th edition.  I never fully believed in the healing powers of chicken noodle soup until this recipe.  Enjoy!

So Easy, Why didn't I Think of This?

I am so excited to share my first post with you. I have so many ideas to share, it has been hard to narrow it down to one.  This is something that I did a few months ago and I have been craving it ever since.
